gtkGLGraph is an OpenGL/Gtk2.0 graphing widget that can draw surface maps as well as X,Y data. The feature set is fairly complete and should be of immediate use to scientific applications.

gtkVUMeter is a VU Meter for gtk+. It provides a simple one-channel audio meter. The minimum and maximum levels are configurable and default to 32767 (which is correct for 16 bit signed wave files). An xmms plugin is available.
