Re: Linux will lose * a unique approach*
To say that M$ can Linux is full of error. In order to sqaush linux they would need to make open source illegal (they can't stop us from build another linux). The plain fact, in phycological terms, is that there will always be people out there that want to do things different then the mainstream. No matter what it's intention (ie to be able to upgrade hardware without M$ permision, the required activation of Win32 to upgrade directX, ect) a group of people will always look for a greener grass on the less traversed side. For techy's, that means a product that they can build to a custom fit. For others, it is the FREEdom. For me, I explored all of Windows in about a week. The dive into the pool of Linux never seems to end. I like to customize my PC like Fast&Ferious customize their cars.
Now in terms of market share, in terms of the front end, linux has a great distance to go before it can dream of competing. Let's face it, Windows users buy For Dummies books because that is what most are in terms of computers. Windows offers these people a simple and easy to use interface. How would MS Linux effect True Linux? Won't really effect it at all. Red Hat Enteprise didn't affect Fedora.
