Swinput can fake a mouse and a keyboard by using the Linux Input System. The swinput modules read from a device and fake hardware events (mouse motion, key presses, etc.) as commands written on the devices. Swinput presents status, etc on the proc filesystem.

Xnee can record, distribute, and replay X (X11) protocol data. This is useful for automated tests of applications or benchmarking of applications. Think of it as a robot. A GUI, a Gnome Panel Applet, and a CLI are available, as well as bash functions.
