I'm new to Linux running GCompris on Ubuntu 9.2. My son is 3 and already speaking French and English. When I first downloaded the package I had not yet installed French language packages for the OS, and now I'm having a heck of a time finding where the french voice packages are downloaded from. So if I go to the Alphabet game, for example, even thought the language is in French, the voice defaults to English as a failover. I've found instructions for how to enable the voice packages once I get my hands on them, I just can't find where they get downloaded from? Should I delete gcompris and grab its package again from Ubuntu Software Center. Will that get the English language packages then?
I'm also wondering where gcompris installs itself (novice Linux/Ubuntu question there, probably).
Merci pour tous!
(J'aime beaucoup le jeu de mots de j'ai compris!)
