An excellent article.
I quite liked the "Nerd Herding" article. While being a little "tongue in cheek", the author articulated a number of serious points. While some of them seem to be based on generalizations (I will resist the temptation to start "picking nits") many of them deserve careful reflection. Perhaps the most import point was the overall sense of genuine respect for his herd that came out in the article. I don't care if you are a nerd, a violinist, a mechanic or a kid, respect is the bottom line (and for genuine nerds, the humor associated with the use of "nerd" in this article is almost a term of endearment). Earning respect as a manager is a tough job and it is an art and it sounds like he did it well for his herd.
