ferm is a tool to maintain and setup complicated firewall rules. It allows one to reduce the tedious task of carefully inserting rules and chains, thus enabling the firewall administrator to spend more time on developing good rules, and less time on the proper implementation of those rules. These rules will be executed by the preferred kernel interface, such as ipchains and iptables, and in one pass. Firewall rules can also be split into different files and loaded at will.

jammod is a program which loads a Linux kernel module without support from the kernel, and writes its information to the module list. Modules loaded like this usually do not appear in the module list. This project writes the module file directly into kernel memory (/dev/kmem) and links it.

It is also appropriate as a console player that is scriptable, and is especially useful if X is restarted frequently. A set of rapid development tools for clients are being developed and include a C library, Python module, PHP class, Perl module, and Java Class. The goals are to be easy to install and use, to have minimal resource requirements, to be stable and flexible, and easy to interface.
