Extended Tcl (TclX) is an extension to Tcl, the Tool Command Language invented by Dr. John Ousterhout. Tcl is a simple and powerful embeddable programming language. Extended Tcl is oriented toward system programming tasks and large application development. TclX provides additional interfaces to the operating system. It also adds many new programming constructs, text manipulation tools, and debugging tools.
smartmontools contains utilities that control and monitor storage devices using the Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology (S.M.A.R.T.) system built into ATA and SCSI hard drives. This is used to check the reliability of the hard drive and to predict drive failures. Version 5.x is designed to comply with the ATA/ATAPI-5 specification. Future releases will comply with the ATA/ATAPI-6 and ATA/ATAPI-7 specifications. It is meant to be an up-to-date replacement for the ucsc-smartsuite and smartsuite packages, and is derived from that code.

Thanks. I just installed 0.60-pre3. Very nice work. I've been searching for something to play .pls files.
BTW, do you intend to backport any other changes from pre0.59s CVS ? Are there any worth left ?

It's also worth mentioning that the current sources are for 1.4.2, meaning it's probably missing everything that got into 1.4.2_01, 1.4.2_02, 1.4.2_03, and 1.4.2_04. Maybe not that useful unless you like to compile everything and don't care about not running the latest version. Maybe ESR is right.
