Shilosh OS provides a secure and stable operating system based on a highly modified Linux kernel, with its own package system similar to BSD's "ports", BSD Init scripts. Compatible with x86 and Power PC, it is also 99% compatible with Windows 9x. It is easy to use and includes complete documentation in many languages.
UPMS (Universal Package Managment System) is based on the BSD ports system, and can be used on any FHS 2.0 Linux-compatible distribution. UPMS has two level of dependencies checking: required and suggested. It also has an option to optimize everything that you build and install with it for your architecture.
Alpha stage, completed
In the beginning we start UPMS as part of our project for Operating system, cos the development of this OS is freezed during the summer season, we released UPMS as standalone package manager. It's very usefull on Linux distributions like Slackware for example, at the moment this distro dont have cool package managment like Debian Apt,Dpkg.
UPMS have fully added and supported dependencies, sepparated in two level, important and suggested.
UPMS have also cleaned build script(include for the deps). Update between old version and new, is maded with .diff files released by the projects(installed software) author.
