Gmandel is a program for exploring intricate and beautiful details of the Mandelbrot set, the classic fractal image. It displays images and allows you to select portions, and click-and- drag for enhancement. You can set the number of colors per iteration, and the iteration limit. It is multi-threaded and runs especially well on SMP machines, and can use the combined processing power in a computer cluster.
Rodent applications (previously Xffm Code Set) is a set of GTK2/GTK3 applications which use librfm and which avoid reinventing the wheel by using interprocess communication with command line applications. Current applications are: Rodent Filemanager (rodent-fm); Rodent Differences (rodent-diff); Rodent Search Tool (rodent-fgr); a command line search tool (fgr); and an icon theme manager (rodent-iconmgr).
Xfbook allows you to create virtual database filesystems and organize your files in a more high level and abstract way without losing the low-level hierarchical directory structure. You can create your own bookmark books with local files or files located across the SMB network by simple drag and drop from Xffm or Xfsamba.
Libtubo Interprocess Communication is a small and simple library to run processes in the background and communicate via the stdout, stderr, and stdin file descriptors. The functionality of libtubo is similar to the glib function g_spawn_async_with_pipes(), except that all pipe setup and monitoring is taken care of. The calling function only has to provide the functions with which to process the input/output of the remote process. The library first appeared in the year 2000 in the xfce3 desktop as part of the xfsamba application, and is now available for use for other developers.
Fgr is a small and simple command line application that finds files and pipes the result to grep to refine the search based on content. It is used by the Rodent Filemanager as the motor for file searches. A graphic front end to the tool, rodent-fgr, is also provided by Rodent Filemanager.
Rodent-diff is graphic interface to the GNU diff and patch commands. It allows you to view differences side by side for files or directories. You can also view differences that applying a patch file would imply, without having to apply the patch. You can also apply patches to the hard disc or create patch files for differences between files or directories.
Rodent filemanager is a fast, small, and powerful file manager. Its emphasis is on ease of use for the advanced user, not the computer illiterate. Rodent filemanager (a.k.a. xffm >= 4.6.0) is the next step in the evolution of Xffm, now with a threaded design optimized for multicore processors.
Good move. I never fancied the freshmeat name, being a vegetarian...
Re: download site?
RPMS and tar.gz are now available for xfsamba-0.32 at the xfsamba home page, following the link http://itzamna.imp.mx/xfsamba/archive
