s710 lets you communicate from a Linux computer to a Polar S710 heart rate monitor via the serial IR interface. It is not complete, but a utility is provided that gives you the ability to view the settings on the watch and download exercise files. Other provided utilities allow you to print the contents of exercise files and render the data in PNG graphs. A Perl interface to the library is also provided. This tool is used by Polarview and SportsTracker.
nspamper is an event driven client to update dynamic DNS entries via Nsupdates. It robustly copes with network problems by retrying until DNS returns the the new IP address. It also correctly handles the case where the link dropped and re-established before the last attempt succeeded by using the latest IP address. Only a minimum of configuration options are required.
dudl is a collection of tools to grab, encode, and rename MP3 files, archive them, and maintain a database of all files. On top of this runs the dudld Jukebox daemon that plays your files through gstreamer. dudld's strengths are the powerful tag based filters, the capability to cope with very large collections, and the network protocol to control its operation. There is a full featured command-line client, a minimalistic GTK client, and a lirc client. Writing new clients should be easy with the supplied client libraries.
srmio is a library to access the most important functions of a Schoberer Radmesstechnik (SRM) PowerControl V, VI, and 7. You can download the data, mark it deleted, sync the time, and set the recording interval. To be as compatible as possible, it reads (SRM5/SRM6/SRM7) and writes (SRM7) files in the same format that srmwin uses.
