Re: someone using SuSe figured out "home" key & "end" key ?
I encountered this same issue. Looking at the stty between the Redhat and SuSE boxes didn't help (settings were the same), but I found that if you leave your putty setting on standard and you change the TERM environment variable to "linux" (probably from xterm) that the home and end keys will work properly all over. Put it in the config file of your shell of choice and you should be good to go.
