As with all anti-anything comments, they are useless unless you give *reasons*! I personally would appreciate if especially Linux-haters gave their reasons -- they may point out serious shortcomings of their currently used software which may be addressed by just switching to another free alternative.

No way. MS-BSD would assure a big deal of compatibility with the free *BSD versions, unless M$ is up to rewrite the complete BSD codebase. Does one want to buy a propriatary, corrupted BSD or rather get a free, more complete version? This would mean the end to MS-BSD, before even having acquired market share.
