oXygen is an XML editor that supports any XML document, and works with XML Schemas, DTDs, Relax NG schemas, and NRL Schemas. It has powerful transformation support that allows you to edit XSLT and XSL-FO documents and to obtain documents in the desired output format (such as HTML, PS, or PDF) with just one click. It also includes a complete Subversion client, support for flattening XML Schemata, an XML Schema instance generator, integration with the X-Hive/DB, MarkLogic and TigerLogic XML databases, editing actions on the diagram, and a rename refactoring action.
Silva is a CMS for organizations that manage multiple or complex Web sites. Content is stored in clean XML, independent of layout and presentation. Features include versioning, a workflow system, an integral visual editor, content reuse, sophisticated access control, multi-site management, extensive import/export facilities, fine-grained templating, and hi-res image storage and manipulation. Silva is built on top of the Zope Web application platform.
EditiX is a cross-platform and multi-purpose XML editor and XSLT debugger (1.0 and 2.0), which helps Web authors and programmers use XML and XML-related technologies, such as XSLT, FO, and XSD schemas. It provides a lot of functionality within a refined IDE, which guides the user with intelligent entry helpers, and has real-time XPath location and syntax error detection. It allows the user to apply an XSLT or FO transformation, and shows the result in a separate view. It includes default templates for XML, DTD, XHTML, XSLT, XSD, XML RelaxNG, SVG, MathML, and XML FO. It can generate schema W3C, DTD or RelaxNG from a document instance.
The Orangevolt XSLT Plugin for Eclipse provides XSLT support to the Eclipse platform. It is the Eclipse-based successor of the Java/Swing-based ROXES XmlWrite XSLT editing environment. It provides many great enhancements when working with XML inside Eclipse. It implements XSLT launch configurations, XML editor enhancements, configurable XML outlines, an xpath navigator view, and more.
The Butterfly XML Editor and IDE is an XML editing environment built on top of a real-time incremental XML parsing algorithm. It features syntax and error highlighting, incremental validation, intelligent code completion (based on XML Schema, DTD, or document analysis), XSLT Debugging, XSLT pipelines, Docbook Rendering, XSL:FO Rendering, and side-by-side DOM and source viewing. Built-in support for Docbook, XSL:FO, XHTML, XSL, Xforms, XML Schemas, XSP, and Cocoon sitemaps is included. Support for other XML types can also easily be added. It is capable of parsing documents that are not well-formed, and shows the source of the errors, allowing for the easy conversion of HTML to well-formed XML. XSLT pipelines simplify the process of building up and visualizing complex transformations.
X2U (XML to user) is an XML editor that does not force users to read XML markup. Instead, users fill out simple Web forms, which are automatically derived from XML models. The XML model provides the XML structure and an interface. It accepts an XML document, an XML Schema, a DTD (Document Type Definition), or an XML form (XForms), and requires only a Web browser to use.
