Molinos CMS is a modular CMS. It supports multiple Web sites per installation, multiple domains per Web site, and different subdomains for different Web site sections. It uses XSLT for templating; templates can be organized in themes, which can be applied to either all pages or particular pages. It can use MySQL or SQLite for data stoarge; all data is available in XML format, ready to use by templates and scripts. User groups (roles) and advanced ACL can be used to control access to that data. It supports many caching and code optimization techniques. Data storage is optimized to minimize queries required to display pages. There are modules for integrating with various third-party services (over 70 modules). Modules are simple to write using the provided documentation (currently only available in Russian). Web sites can use local and system modules simultaneously. It works with most Web servers, and has a built-in Web server (for localhost development). It also has a CLI for most tasks.
The Epeios MIDI to XML converter makes it possible to convert binary MIDI files to a format that allows them to be handled effectively with tools like CVS. If you put, using your favorite MIDI sequencer, the CVS '$Id$' tag (or other CVS tags) in the comment tag of the MIDI file, the changes made to this tag by CVS are propagated into the MIDI file.
RoseThorn is a cross-platform library for 2D and 3D games running on GNU/Linux (and possibly other Unix-like OSes) and Windows. Features include: hardware accelerated 2D and 3D rendering; Ogg and WAV Sound support with OpenAL; Lua scripting; BMP, JPEG, and PNG image loading and saving (from screenshots); easily created and modified user interfaces with XML and CSS, combined with Lua event handling; separate 2D and 3D libraries; support for multiple fonts in both TTF and bitmap formats; support for OBJ, 3DS, MD5, and RTM model formats; skeletal animation (a work in progress); support for UDP and TCP networking; thread and mutex support; a Simple Shader API; 2D animated sprites; and some basic cryptography support. There is simple event management, with key/mouse bindings easily customized from the in-game console, config file, command line, or GUI.
once:radix is an integrated development environment (IDE) that operates entirely within a Web browser. once:radix supports two methods of connecting to the server. Most interest is focused on its Rich Internet Application (RIA) environment. This comes with a suite of five RIAs that perform specific roles: logging on or off, context-sensitive help, database administration, IDE, and client. In addition, the once:secureserver (oSS) can respond to commands from session-managed external Web servers.
The XCB library provides an interface to the X Window System protocol, designed to replace the Xlib interface. It has several advantages over Xlib, including size (small library and lower memory footprint), latency hiding (batch several requests and wait for the replies later), direct protocol access (one-to-one mapping between interface and protocol), thread support (access XCB from multiple threads, with no explicit locking), and easy creation of new extensions (automatically generates its interface from machine-parsable XML protocol descriptions). Xlib can also use XCB as a transport layer, allowing software to make requests and receive responses with both, which eases porting to XCB. However, client programs, libraries, and toolkits will gain the most benefit from a native XCB port.
XML Binary Infoset Encoding (XBIS) is an encoding designed to eliminate most of the padding of XML text documents being passed between programs, while being faster to generate and interpret. The focus is more on speed than on size, so if document size is the major concern standard compression algorithms can offer superior results. The current Java implementation shows 4-8X performance benefits over standard XML parsers over a range of document types and sizes and across JVMs tested.
