x9wm is a clone or fork of the 9wm and w9wm X window managers. It is a light alternative for the Mac OS X desktop. All of its source code is contained in a single file. It supports an alterate red colored cursor. It is very light on resources, quite fast, very simple, and easy for long programming, editing, or Web work sessions. You can blend it with Nitrogen and Wbar to create a simple but elegant interface without iconic or stylistic clutter. It does not decorate windows with borders, and it is modal, controlled with the mouse.
TkSessionManager is an X11 session manager. It is started as the last or only command in a .xinitrc or .xsession script file. It provides a user definable menu of commands that can be launched and a text area that can be used for electronic note taking. The contents of the text area can be edited, saved, cleared, copied to the X11 copy buffer, and printed.
Lunchbox is a dynamic tiling window manager for X11. It allows windows to be resized by squishing them against the edge of the screen. In a step away from the desktop metaphor, all programs are given a separate workspace and unique arrangement of windows, and any window can become the desktop. It offers an in-built scalable tab replacement called the Title Menu, which allows any window to be swapped with any other window that fits, allowing very fine grained control over the layout of the screen. Finally, although many windows default to tiling, any window can be changed to a Floating mode, which dialog boxes default to.
euclid-wm is a minimalist tiling window manager for X11. It is designed to allow quick and easy management of numerous windows entirely from easy-to-learn, Vim-like key-bindings. It seeks to do two things in particular: balance the ease of use common among automatic-layout tiling window managers with the flexibility of manual layout window managers, and create a useful way to handle minimized applications.
Sxwd is a multi-purpose tool for dealing with xwd images. Xwd is a C++ class which was created by merging xwd.c and xwud.c from the X11R6 distribution and porting them to GNU C++. Sxwd is a command line wrapper to exercise the member functions of xwd. Sxwd was created to manipulate the colormaps of 8-bit PsuedoColor XWD images in the production of custom USGS topographical maps. A few additional features have been added.
