JH2N (Java host to named conversion program) converts a hosts file to a full BIND 8 or 9 configuration. JH2N was inspired by the h2n.pl program included in the O'Reilly "DNS and BIND" book. Various options are available to enhance its operation by incuding external files. Using the simple host file syntax, very large and complex zones can be maintained.
The NNGS (No Name Go Server) is a full-featured server which allows you to play the game of Go over the Internet. It runs on Unix machines as well as on Windows, and supports connections from many clients (both graphical and text based). The code is based on the Free Internet Chess Server (FICS) code, and currently only supports the game of Go.
pdfcrypt allows you to set permissions on a PDF file. For example, you can publish a document without permitting users to print it. The button to print the file will be disabled in the Acrobat Reader application. It can be used as a batch application to set permissions on a large group of PDF files, or as a filter in a Unix pipeline, or within a CGI application. Only binary executables are distributed, but the original Perl source code may be requested.
FreeRADIUS is a high-performance, highly configurable, and feature-rich RADIUS server. Supported features include EAP (wireless authentication, PEAP, TTLS), MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, LDAP, X9.9 token cards, VMPS, and many more. It comes with more than 50 vendor dictionaries, and interoperates with many others. It is the only open source RADIUS server that has implemented EAP, and it is currently deployed in multiple million-user systems.
GPLIGC is a program for analyzing IGC flight data from GNSS flight data recorders used by glider pilots. It uses Perl/Tk and gnuplot. The openGLIGCexplorer (written in C++) allows one to view the data in 3D with OpenGL, and can also be used as a digital elevation model terrain viewer. It can also be used for off-screen rendering of 2D and 3D images of flight tracks or terrain/map data.
IRC Channel Relay Bot allows you to have an IRC channel span multiple IRC networks. It relays public and private messages, informs you about people joining and leaving the channel, and passes topics across networks (if you op it). It has minimal ability to help protect the channel.
Distributed Checksum Clearinghouse (DCC) is a system of clients and servers that collect and count checksums related to mail messages. The counts can be used by SMTP servers and mail user agents to detect and reject bulk mail. DCC servers can exchange common checksums. The checksums include values that are "fuzzy", or constant across common variations in bulk messages.
PhysicsFS is a library to provide abstract access to various archives. The programmer defines a "write directory" on the physical filesystem. No file writing done through the PhysicsFS API can leave that write directory, for security. For file reading, the programmer lists directories and archives that form a "search path". Once the search path is defined, it becomes a single, transparent, hierarchical filesystem. This makes for easy access to ZIP files in the same way as you access a file directly on the disk, and it makes it easy to ship a new archive that will override a previous archive on a per-file basis. Symbolic links can be disabled, for added safety. Finally, PhysicsFS gives you a platform- abstracted means to determine if CD-ROMs are available, the user's home directory, where in the real filesystem your program is running, etc.
