mdepub is a tool that allows you to compose a book in Markdown format and use Pandoc and Calibre to compile an Epub package including all of the book's source material. In effect, you can keep the source and product in the same file in your library; if you ever want to revise the product, you merely need to extract the source, make edits, and recompile.
Sukiyaki was born out of what the author sees as a much needed improvement to current imageboard/BBS software. They're flaky, often have security flaws that users take advantage of, and worst of all, they have the same UI from the mid-nineties. It's time for an update! Sukiyaki visually organizes replies in threads so that it is clear who the reply is sent to. It is written using Django with its wonderful ORM, which helps reduce security vulnerabilities. It has been tested in production and is stable. It also includes a unique system for user-ranking of posts. Planned features include RSS updates for individual boards and threads, and there is a faster backend (Django-Treebeard).
audioloader is a minimalist music library browser that enables the browsing of a local music collection in any Web browser. It supports album/directory oriented audio/music listening. Album playlists are generated dynamically, and can either be queued into Audacious through a script distributed with the application or downloaded and opened with any music player. It is self-contained with no dependency on any external application but the Web browser, and supports cover art display, history, random album selection, and sub-collections. It has limited mobile support, as well.
Qute is a text editor with Markdown and TeX support. It offers per-paragraph previews so users can switch between editing the source and viewing a rich text rendering with typeset formulas for each paragraph separately. To make looking at a single text file for hours appealing, Qute offers switchable themes with subtle background images and font effects and includes a couple of great Open Source fonts which are a joy to work with. Qute's user interface is distraction-free and offers a full-screen mode. In this sense, it is similar to such great editors as WriteRoom, Dark Room, and WriteMonkey. As far as the themes are concerned, however, Qute is far more adventurous. Qute reads and writes plain text files using the Markdown markup language for rich text formatting and TeX syntax for formulas. Paragraphs are separated by blank lines. While it is possible to edit arbitrary text files with Qute, editing (for example) source code is not what Qute is intended for. Instead, Qute is a tool for writing prose. Qute is built using Web technologies. In particular, it uses Chromeless, Showdown, and MathJax.
