The WorldForge Project is developing a complete, distributable framework for massively multiplayer online roleplaying games. The system will include a number of fully developed roleplaying worlds with unique maps, histories, creatures and legends. To run these worlds on the servers a balanced but highly customisable set of roleplaying rules is being developed. Provisions will be made to allow others the ability to recode the servers to use alternate rule sets. A standard protocol named Atlas is being developed to allow a common communication layer between clients, servers, and associated tools. MapServer is a CGI based Web mapping application development tool. It processes user defined configuration files and templates to allow for a wide variety of applications to be developed, including interactive mapping, and spatial query definition and processing. It supports several data formats. Key features include scale dependent map rendering, automatic scalebar and legend building, feature labeling with collision avoidance, logical and thematic classifications, and on-the-fly projection of raster and vector data. The application can also access other WMS servers as a cascading map server.
Euphoria is a simple, flexible, easy-to-learn programming language. It lets you quickly and easily develop programs for Windows, Linux, FreeBSD, NetbSD, OpenBSD, and Mac OS X. Although Euphoria provides subscript checking, uninitialized variable checking, and numerous other run-time checks, it is extremely fast and has the ability to compile to transparently compile native executables via C code.
GNU units converts quantities expressed in various systems of measurement to their equivalents in other systems of measurement. Like many similar programs, it can handle multiplicative scale changes. It can also handle nonlinear conversions such as Fahrenheit to Celsius, and it can perform conversions from and to sums of units, such as converting between feet plus inches and meters. Beyond simple unit conversions, units can be used as a general-purpose scientific calculator which keeps track of units in its calculations. You can form arbitrary complex mathematical expressions of dimensions including sums, products, quotients, powers, and even roots of dimensions. In this way, you can ensure accuracy and dimensional consistency when working with long expressions which involve many different units which may combine in complex ways. The units are defined in an extensive, well-annotated data file which defines over 2,500 units. You can also provide your own file to supplement or replace the standard file.
GSMLIB is a library to access GSM mobile phones through GSM modems. Features include: modification of phonebooks stored in the mobile phone or on the SIM card, reading and writing of SMS messages stored in the mobile phone, sending and reception of SMS messages. Additionally, some simple command line programs are provided to use these features.
gpsim is a software simulator for Microchip's PIC microcontrollers. It was designed to provide accurate simulation at real-time speeds. Support exists for all three families of PIC's: 12-, 14-, and 16-bit cores. Simulator features like breakpoints (both execution and memory), trace, symbolic debugging, etc. are all supported. Additonally, simulated stimuli like square waves and analog signals are supported or, if you want, you can create your own dynamically loadable modules (like a 7-segment display). gpsim has both a GTK-based GUI and a readline-based CLI.
