mtail is a small tail workalike that performs output coloring using ANSI escape sequences (although the sequences are overridable, so you could cause it to output something else, e.g., HTML font tags). It is written in python, is fairly small, and should be relatively platform-independent.
Berkeley DB is a programmatic toolkit that provides high-performance built-in database support for desktop and server applications. The Berkeley DB access methods include B+tree, Extended Linear Hashing, Fixed and Variable-length records, and Queues. Berkeley DB provides full transactional support, database recovery, online backups, multi- threaded and multi-process access, etc. The Python wrappers allow you to store Python string objects of any length, keyed either by strings or integers depending on the database access method. With the use of another module in the package standard shelve-like functionality is provided allowing you to store any picklable Python object!
py-xmlrpc is an extremely fast implementation of the xmlrpc spec for Python (written in C). It supports both blocking and non-blocking clients and servers on Windows and POSIX platforms. Version 0.8.1 is 100% compliant with the xmlrpc validator found at http://validator.xmlrpc.com.
This is an application to help user (mathematician) to make regression between series of data, draw grpahics, and export them into various formats by means of common graphics packages (i.e., gnuplot, plotutils). It is written in Python. The user interfeace is built upon the wxPython (wxWindows) widget set. The idea of usage is as follows: the user builds a project which is represented as a tree of modules; modules can generate data variables, as well as consume them. Essentialy, such a tree represents an algorithm of data analysis. The system is intended to educate students.
PLplot is a library of C functions that are useful for making scientific plots from programs written in a wide variety of languages. It can be used to create standard x-y plots, semi-log plots, log-log plots, contour plots, 3D plots, shade (gray-scale and color) plots, mesh plots, bar charts, and pie charts. Multiple graphs may be placed on a single page with multiple lines in each graph. Different line styles, widths, and colors are supported. A virtually infinite number of distinct area fill patterns may be used. A variety of output devices and file formats are supported.
Actim allows you to send and retrieve files, and to call command line programs on a target machine via emails. The application can handle both synchronous and asynchronous requests with basic security features. It has both command line and graphical user interfaces. This can be useful if, for example, your home PC does not have any access to your office workstation which is behind the company firewall.
SOAP.py is an implementation of SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) in Python. It includes a general SOAP Parser based on sax.xml ( requires Python 2.0 ), a general SOAP Builder, a SOAP Proxy for RPC client code, and SOAP Server framework for RPC server code. SOAP.py handles all of the types in the BDG, handles faults, allows namespace specification, and SOAPAction specification. It supports Homogeneous typed arrays, multiple schemas, the mustUnderstand and actor headers, XML attributes, Multi-referencing. SOAP.py also has good interoperability and passes all client tests for Frontier, SOAP::LITE, and SOAPRMI encodings.
