tk500 is a multiplatform programming and cloning utility for the portable Yaesu VR-500 receiver. It can read the memory image from the radio, display the information graphically, and save it to a file. It can import information from an RT Systems .RDF file and export memory channel information to a .CSV (comma-separated values) file. Users are free to change most settings and write the memory image back to the receiver. tk500 exploits undocumented features within the radio.
The sigslot library is a portable, type-safe, thread-safe implementation of the signal/slot paradigm written entirely as a C++ template library. No preprocessor is required. The library can coexist with other C++ libraries, notably the Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC), adding Qt-like functionality to any suitably instrumented classes. The library should work fine with any reasonably standards compliant C++ compiler that supports the STL and templates with optional template parameters. Partial template specialisation is NOT required.
The libmba package is a collection of mostly independent C modules potentially useful to any project. There are the usual ADTs including a linkedlist, hashmap, pool, stack, and varray, a flexible memory allocator, CSV parser, path canonicalization routine, I18N text abstraction, configuration file module, portable semaphores, condition variables, and more. The code is designed so that individual modules can be integrated into existing codebases rather than requiring the user to commit to the entire library. The code has no typedefs, few comments, and extensive man pages and HTML documentation.
The Open CORBA Benchmarking Suite measures several basic performance aspects of various CORBA brokers. The suite produces an XML output that can be submitted to a searchable database of broker performance data and browsed in a graphical form. The suite is portable to a number of platforms and brokers.
Speex is a patent-free compression format designed especially for speech. It is specialized for voice communications at low bit-rates in the 2-45 kbps range. Possible applications include Voice over IP (VoIP), Internet audio streaming, audio books, and archiving of speech data (e.g. voice mail).
WvStreams is a library set composed of a number of parts. Among them are WvIPStreams (WvTCPStream and WvUDPStream), WvStrings (yet another C++ String class), WvCrypto Streams (including an easy way to add SSL support to applications), UniConf (a universal configuration system), WvLog (nice, simple handling of log files), and a whole host of other goodness. These are the base classes used to build programs such as the ever popular WvDial, TunnelVision, FastForward, KWvDial, and retchmail.
MX Query Builder allows table relation management, automating SQL query generation in a visual interface. It manages tables, relations, and conditions for queries in your Web browser, and integrates the resulted SQL directly in Dreamweaver, allowing you to use the server behaviors with it.
PowerDNS Authoritative Server is a high-performance authoritative nameserver with a host of backends. Besides plain BIND configuration files, PDNS reads information from MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQLite, MongoDB, and many other databases. Backends can easily be written in any language, and a sample Perl backend is provided. PDNS powers around 30-40% of all domain names in many parts of the world, including >90% of all DNSSEC domains in Europe.
