StarORF is a tool that facilitates the identification of the protein(s) encoded in DNA sequences and allows for transforming input sequence in its reverse complements. It allows students to define the minimal ORF length detected and highlighted by the software. Students can see putative ORF protein sequence (longer than specified ORF length), visualize start and stop codons in the sequence, and navigate imported sequences. The StarORF site contains a software user manual, video tutorial, and exercises applicable to high school and college classrooms.
Icwri is a lightweight, very simple, service-oriented Java built-in script. It can help Java developers build some application interfaces in a service-oriented style. It can also help non-technical people join the development team to write their own application scripts to enforce business rules and decisions. Icwri service providers and consumers can be either Icwri scripts or Java classes. An Icwri script can run all alone, but the primary purpose of Icwri script is to have an assistant language of Java. It can run on any system with JDK/JRE 1.5 or above installed. It does not support Java SE 6 Script Engine because of the service-oriented design and the requirement to support Java SE 1.5 users.

OmniComment is a small script to that enables a Webmaster to add comments to any page. The idea is to include a call to the script in the appropriate page, using an SSI statement. The script will write out the appropriate HTML containing a link to the comments already posted for this page and a form to post new comments. In principle this is similar to Gentle Comment, except it's more lightweight: it uses a flat directory and normal files to store the comment (as opposed to a MySQL database), so it is not appropriate if your Web site receives thousand of comments a minute. Another difference is that all configuration happens in a text file, and there is no Web interface to perform administration. OmniComment generates an ATOM feed that follows publication of comments anywhere in the site.
