SendSNPP is a program for sending messages through an RFC1861-compliant SNPP server. SNPP stands for Simple Network Paging Protocol, and is used by a wide range of paging and cellphone providers for sending pages and text messages. SendSNPP requires no special modules, and has been tested on Linux and Windows systems. It has a straight-forward interface, making it very easy to use.
Untarka extracts TAR (Unix Tape ARchive) files without calling any external programs. It supports and autodetects multiple compression methods (.tar, .tar.Z, .tar.gz, .tar.bz2, .Z, .gz, and .bz2). Unix devices, sockets, hard links, symlinks, owners, and permissions are ignored during extraction.
Smilehouse Workspace is a Java based e-commerce application for product, order, and customer information management. It can be used for building and managing product catalogs, online stores, Webshops, and b-to-b extranets. It currently runs on Tomcat and has two Web-based interfaces. The first is a themed interface visible to the public, and the second is a separate administration interface for managing both the appearance and content of the published service (users and customers, product information and related files, order information).
Javasynth is a Java-based system for creating (rather experimental) modular audio systems called sound modules. This allows synthesizers of some kind to be assembled in a modular fashion using oscillators, amplifiers, envelopes, filters, and other components familiar to those that have worked with hardware synthesizers. It includes a separated synth engine and a Swing user interface for building sound modules.
The Lightweight Java Game Library is a native binding for OpenGL and OpenAL written with game developers in mind. It allows the full OpenGL and OpenAL APIs to be exposed without the penalties associated with competing methods, nor the limitations of APIs such as Java3D. Tutorials and demos are available, and Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X are supported.
BitTorrent++ is a client for the BitTorrent peer-to-peer file sharing solution. Based on the original BitTorrent software, it is also written in Python using wxPython for the GUI, thus allowing it to run on Win32 as well as Linux-like platforms. It improves (or will improve) many parts of the original software, like downloading of multiple files at once, configuration of upload and download speeds, as well as other behaviours. The GUI and usability is also to be improved greatly.
IDL2Matlab is a program for automatically translating a program from IDL into Matlab and Scilab. IDL and Matlab are two major numerical languages for scientists. Scilab is a free Matlab-like language. Many IDL programs have been developed in large facilities studying astrophysics, geology, medicine, and particle and nuclear physics. On the other hand, Matlab is widely used in smaller laboratories, such as universities and national scientific agencies. This program is designed to extend the portability of such IDL programs.
