Vim is an almost fully-compatible version of the Unix editor Vi. Many new features have been added including multi-level undo, syntax highlighting, commandline history, online help, filename completion, and block operations. It is descended from the vi clone "stevie" and runs on many systems, including Unix, MS Windows, OS/2, Macintosh, VMS, and Amiga.
SQLite is a small, fast, embeddable SQL database engine that supports most of SQL92, including transactions with atomic commit and rollback, subqueries, compound queries, triggers, and views. A complete database is stored in a single cross-platform disk file. The native C/C++ API is simple and easy to use. Bindings for other languages are also available.
LogAnalyzer is a Web front-end for syslog and other network event data. It provides easy browsing, searching, basic analysis, and some graphics. Data is taken from databases or plain syslog text files, so LogAnalyzer does not require changes to an existing logging infrastructure. Depending on the log data present, it can process syslog messages, Windows event log entries, and some more exotic things. Its troubleshooting support enables users to quickly find solutions to problems seen in the log data. LogAnalyzer was previously called phpLogCon, and has been renamed since v3.
HTMLDOC converts HTML files and Web pages into indexed HTML, PostScript, and PDF files suitable for online viewing and printing. It can be used as a standalone GUI application, in a batch document processing environment, as a Web-based report generation application, or in embedded environments to support printing of HTML content. It runs on all Unix platforms as well as Mac OS X and Windows 2000 and higher.
DBeaver is a universal database manager and SQL Client. It supports MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, DB2, MSSQL, Sybase, Mimer, HSQLDB, SQLite, Derby, and any database that has a JDBC driver. It is a GUI program that allows you to view the structure of a database, execute SQL queries and scripts, browse and export table data, handle BLOB/CLOB values, modify database meta objects, etc. It has a native UI (provided by the Eclipse SWT library), great performance, and relatively low memory consumption.
GNU Wget is a utility for noninteractive download of files from the Web. It supports HTTP and FTP protocols, as well as retrieval through HTTP proxies. It can follow HTML links, download many pages, and convert the links for local viewing. It can also mirror FTP hierarchies or only those files that have changed. Wget has been designed for robustness over slow network connections; if a download fails due to a network problem, it will keep retrying until the whole file has been retrieved.
FLTK (pronounced "fulltick") is a cross-platform C++ GUI toolkit for UNIX/Linux (X11), Microsoft Windows, and Mac OS X. It provides modern GUI functionality without the bloat, and supports 3D graphics via OpenGL and its built-in GLUT emulation. FLTK is designed to be small and modular enough to be statically linked, and also works fine as a shared library. It also includes an excellent UI builder called FLUID that can be used to create applications in minutes.
ntop is a network probe that shows network usage in a way similar to what top does for processes. It acts as a Web server, creating an HTML dump of the network status. It sports a NetFlow/sFlow emitter/collector, an HTTP-based client interface for creating ntop-centric monitoring applications, and RRD for persistently storing traffic statistics.
