Daffodil DB is a SQL-99 specification compliant, lightweight, Java-based relational database engine (RDBMS). It supports almost all constructs of SQL 99 (including triggers, views, constraints, UDT, stored procedures, etc.), supports distributed transactions (XA), provides a complete JDBC 3.0 driver (including support for optional features like save points, rowsets, UDT, XA, connection pooling, etc.), and can run in embedded or server mode. It can be included as a jar file in any Java application. Daffodil DB includes Daffodil DB Browser, a GUI-based database management tool that can be used to carry out all database operations such as creating a database, creating database objects, executing SQL statements, and manipulating data, browser database objects, etc.
DansTuner is a program to tell you if you are playing a pitch in tune. Major features include automatic discovery of which note you are trying to play (good for trumpet, singer, etc.), the ability to play a guide tone at a configurable volume, a graphical moving "needle" with a red/green display and detail about how flat or sharp you are, and an easily configurable background noise threshold.
Dasher is an information-efficient text-entry interface, driven by natural continuous pointing gestures. It is a competitive text-entry system wherever a full-size keyboard cannot be used--on a palmtop or wearable computer, when operating a computer one-handed, by joystick, touchscreen, trackball, or mouse, or when operating a computer with zero hands (i.e., by head-mouse or by eyetracker).
Designer Framework is a highly customizable e-commerce framework. It automatically builds e-commerce interfaces that support a product's contraints and properties and can be used to model the product to be sold, automatically and dynamically generating different output formats depending on the generator used. It includes a Java modelling application, a finite state machine described in XML as intermediate format for the customer interface, and XSLT scripts for transforming the state machine into the final interface.Designer Framework is a highly customizable e-commerce framework. DigitizeIt digitizes scanned graphs and charts. Graphs can be loaded in nearly all common image formats (including gif, tiff, jpeg, bmp, png, psd, pcx, xbm, xpm, tga, pct), pasted from the clipboard, or imported via a screenshot. Digitizing of line and scatter plots occurs automatically, and manual digitizing via mouse clicks is also possible. Data values are transformed to a specified axes system and can be saved in ASCII format, ready to use in many other applications such as Microcal Origin or Excel. Axes can be linear, logarithmic, or reciprocal scale. Multiple data sets can be defined and edited. Tilted and distorted graphs can be handled. Comprehensive online help is included. Java 1.4 is required.
Dar is a shell command that makes backup of a directory tree and files. Its features include splitting archives over several files, DVD, CD, ZIP, or floppies, compression, full or differential backups, strong encryption, proper saving and restoration of hard links, extended attributes, file forks, Door inodes, and sparse files, remote backup using pipes and external commands (such as ssh), and rearrangement of the "slices" of an existing archive. It can run commands between slices, before and after saving some defined files or directories (for a proper database backup, for example), and quickly retrieve individual files from differential and full backups. Several external GUIs exist as alternatives to its CLI interface, like kdar, DarGUI, SaraB, etc.
DiskSearch is a tool for searching for files on all your removable media disks, including CDs, ZIP disks, and backup tapes. It allows you to search for songs on your MP3 CDs or for a document on your backup DVDs. For advanced queries, a regular expression search mode is provided. Searches are based on a simple database file, which needs to be filled once by adding all your disks to it.
E-MailRelay is a simple SMTP store-and-forward mail transport agent (MTA). It runs as an SMTP server, storing incoming e-mail in a local spool directory, and then forwarding the stored messages to a downstream SMTP server on request. It can also run as a proxy server, forwarding (and optionally pre-processing) incoming e-mail as soon as it is received. It does not do any message routing other than to a local postmaster. Because of its simplicity E-MailRelay is extremely easy to configure, typically requiring only the address of the downstream SMTP server to be put on the commandline.
