Boxes is a text filter that can draw any kind of box around its input text. Box design choices range from simple boxes to complex ASCII art. A box can also be removed and repaired, even if it has been badly damaged by editing of the text inside. Since the generated boxes may be open on any side, the program can also be used to create regional comments in any programming language. New box designs of all sorts can easily be added and shared by appending to a free format configuration file. In addition to being a command line tool, Boxes integrates well with any text editor that supports filters.

bttvgrab is a program for grabbing video sequences using a bt848-based frame grabber card (e.g. Hauppauge WinTV, Miro PCTV...). The goal of bttvgrab is to provide high-quality grabbing suitable for video recording. Currently, this is accomplished by trying hard not to leave out a single frame, and to catch temproary delays by buffering several frames. In the future, synchronized sound will be part of it. Then you can create mpeg movies using mpeg2enc, the output files will be prepared for that, so that the conversion can be done by a simple shell script.
Cactus is a general, modular, parallel environment for solving systems of partial differential equations. The code has been developed over many years by a large international collaboration of numerical relativity and computational science research groups and can be used to provide a portable platform for solving any system of partial differential equations.

The Catweasel Floppy Read/Write Tools are a set of tools for owners of Catweasel MK1 ISA and Catweasel MK3/MK4 PCI universal floppy disk controllers. cw2dmk reads several kinds of floppy disk, some of which ordinary PC controllers have trouble with, and save them in the DMK disk image format used by TRS-80 emulators. It can also handle any disk written using a Western Digital 177x/179x floppy disk controller, a PC-style NEC765-compatible controller, or a Digital Equipment Corporation RX02 controller. dmk2cw writes any DMK image back to a floppy. jv2dmk and dmk2jv3 convert images between DMK and JV1 and JV3 formats without requiring Catweasel hardware.
ccaudio2 is a simple, highly portable, stand-alone, C++-based framework for manipulation of audio data. Its goal is to be a C++ framework that is as useful as "audiofile" or "sndfile" is for C programming, and to cover various generic and useful manipulations of audio data as well as audio file access. A stand-alone audio processing command line tool is also provided to demonstrate library functionality. ccaudio2 compiles under Mac OS X, POSIX systems, and Win32 systems.
Cdrdao records audio/data CD-Rs in disk-at-once (DAO) mode based on a textual description of the CD contents (toc-file). Features include full control over length and contents of pre-gaps (pause areas between tracks). Pre-gaps may be completely omitted, e.g. for dividing live recordings into tracks. Control over sub-channel data like catalog numbers, copy, pre-emphasis, 2-/4-channel flags, ISRC code, and index marks are provided as well. GCDMaster is a Gnome GUI front-end that lets you import MP3 and WAV files, select track markers and cut/copy/paste audio snippets before burning.
