It is designed to handle credit, debit, gift, EBT, and check authorizations and is certified to support major clearing house protocols. Features include support for multiple modems, multiple merchant accounts, and multiple processors, all simultaneously -- as well as IP and SSL connectivity along side SQL database support. Designed in C, conforming to POSIX standards, and utilizing light weight processes (threads), this product is able to handle a large number of transactions with high speed and minimal CPU usage.
CellProfiler is a system for analyzing cell images. It is designed for biologists without training in computer vision or programming to make quantitative measurements of cells in thousands of images automatically. It is implemented using Matlab, but compiled standalone versions are available.
e3 is a full-screen, user-friendly text editor with an interface similar to that of either WordStar, Emacs, Pico, Nedit, or vi. It's heavily optimized for size and independent of libc or any other libraries, making it useful for mini-Linux distributions and rescue disks. The assembler version supports Linux, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, NetBSD, Win9x, QNX, Atheos, BeOS, ELKS, and DOS. There is also a separately distributed version written in C which supports some other Unix versions and CygWin. It is also possible to use regular expressions by using child processes like sed. e3 has a built in arithmetic calculator.
SINGULAR is a computer algebra system for polynomial computations in commutative algebra, algebraic geometry, and singularity theory. Its main computational objects are ideals and modules over a large variety of baserings. The baserings are polynomial rings over a field (eg. finite fields, the rationals, floats, algebraic extensions, transcendental extensions), or localizations thereof, or quotient rings with respect to an ideal. It features fast and general implementations for computing Groebner and standard bases, including Buchberger's algorithm and Mora's Tangent Cone algorithm. Its interactive shell and C-like programming language can be extended by libraries written in the SINGULAR programming language.
