Advene (Annotate Digital Video, Exchange on the NEt) is aimed at providing a model and a format to share annotations about digital video documents (movies, courses, conferences, etc.), as well as tools to edit and visualize the hypervideos generated from both the annotations and the audiovisual documents. Teachers, moviegoers, etc. can use them to exchange multimedia comments and analyses about video documents. The project also aims at studying the way that communities of users (teachers, moviegoers, students, etc.) will use these self-publishing tools to share their audiovisual "readings", and to envision new editing and viewing interfaces for interactive comment and analysis of audiovisual content.

The GNU Compact Disc Input and Control library encapsulates CD-ROM reading and control for applications wishing to be oblivious to the OS- and device-dependent properties of a CD-ROM. It provides an API for access to SCSI-MMC (multimedia commands) and support for CD image types like BIN/CUE, cdrdao's TOC, and Nero's NRG, which gives applications using the library the ability to read disc images as though they were CDs. ISO-9660 filesystem support is included, as are utility programs for displaying CD and CD-ROM drive information, reading the blocks of a CD, and extracting files from an ISO-9660 filesytem image. cdparanoia is also included.

Videoporama (formerly known as Images2dvgui) is an application to make a video images slideshow. The supported export formats are DV (raw .dv and AVI), MPEG (VCD, SVCD, and DVD), FLV, and h264. The export resolution is from 384x288 to full 1080HD. It's possible to add multiples sound. It's possible to add images, titres and video sequences with transitions between sequences. The transition type can be defined for each sequence. There is also a Ken Burns effect, which zooms and travels over an image with multiple passage points and a fixed plan during the effect.
