PECoMaTo stands for Picture-Embedded COntents MAnipulation TOol. It is basically designed to display any kind of information embedded in picture files, as well as checking, filtering, extracting, removing, adding, and fixing such information. In other words, it's a metadata processor. It supports the following file formats: JPEG/JFIF, Adobe PSD and FFO, and raw IPTC. It knows about the following metadata formats: JFIF, IPTC, Exif, Adobe, and Fotostation. More file and metadata formats might be supported later (TIFF, etc.).
LibGC is a small, fast, portable, multi-threaded garbage collection library for C++. It is highly customizable, as it can be multithreaded or single threaded, and the memory size to use for the collector may be changed at compile time. It is precise, as it only scans pointers that exist as members on the stack or as global variables. It's very easy to use, since it has only two classes, Object (the base class for garbage-collected objects) and Pointer (for garbage-collected pointers).
SINGULAR is a computer algebra system for polynomial computations in commutative algebra, algebraic geometry, and singularity theory. Its main computational objects are ideals and modules over a large variety of baserings. The baserings are polynomial rings over a field (eg. finite fields, the rationals, floats, algebraic extensions, transcendental extensions), or localizations thereof, or quotient rings with respect to an ideal. It features fast and general implementations for computing Groebner and standard bases, including Buchberger's algorithm and Mora's Tangent Cone algorithm. Its interactive shell and C-like programming language can be extended by libraries written in the SINGULAR programming language.
ivata masks is a library of routines developed in Java/JSP/Struts that automatically create masks and lists based on Java reflection and settings specified in XML, which saves a huge amount of time. Rather than developing input screens and lists for each value object class, you need to define just two screens - one for lists, the other for input masks. An XML file defines which fields should be displayed or filtered out in each, and the library automatically interrogates the value object classes to discover which fields are available for display. Struts messages automate the field labels based on the field name as a key.
SOFEA is a Matlab object-oriented Finite Element toolkit. It includes the book, A Pragmatic Introduction to Finite Element Analysis for Structural Engineers. The toolkit provides linear transient thermal analysis capabilities, with stress analysis and coupled multi-physics coming shortly.
Stratego/XT is a development environment for creating stand-alone transformation systems. It combines Stratego, a language for implementing transformations based on the paradigm of programmable rewriting strategies, with XT, a collection of reusable components and tools for the development of transformation systems. In general, Stratego/XT is intended for the analysis, manipulation, and generation of programs, though its features make it useful for transforming any structured documents. In practice, it has been used to build many types of transformation systems including compilers, interpreters, static analyzers, domain-specific optimizers, code generators, source code refactorers, documentation generators, and document transformers.
TextureWorks is an awesome collection of natural textures. Hundreds of commercial-quality brick, water, sky, stone, cloth, wood, and marble textures and surfaces are included in the package. There are many different categories. Registration comes with two free bonus products and access to a large sound effects library.
Palabre is a Flash XML multi-user socket server. It is meant to be used as replacement for the Macromedia Flash Communication Server. It's much more limited, but it has all the basic features for connecting Flash-based clients through XML sockets (such as sending and receiving messages or creating rooms). You can use it to create multiuser applications like chatting, (almost) real time games, and online support. It does not include video streaming functions.
