Lepton's Crack is a generic password cracker. It is easily-customizable with a simple plugin system and allows system administrators to review the quality of the passwords being used on their systems. It can perform a dictionary-based (wordlist) attack as well as a brute force (incremental) password scan, including the use of regular expressions. It supports standard MD4 hash, standard MD5 hash, NT MD4/Unicode, Lotus Domino HTTP password (R4), and SHA-1 hash formats. LM (LAN Manager) plus appending and prepending of characters is available in the Development branch (strongly recommended).
AVInfo is a utility for displaying AVI, MPEG (1 and 2), OGM, MKV, and IFO (DVD) information. It returns the length of a clip, FPS, resolution, codec, audio and video bit rate, number of key frames, sound parameters, the number and type of streams, and the language for audio/subtitles. It then generates a file list with statistics (HTML, plain text, or CSV).
Dasher is an information-efficient text-entry interface, driven by natural continuous pointing gestures. It is a competitive text-entry system wherever a full-size keyboard cannot be used--on a palmtop or wearable computer, when operating a computer one-handed, by joystick, touchscreen, trackball, or mouse, or when operating a computer with zero hands (i.e., by head-mouse or by eyetracker).
reversible hexdump is a hexdump/hex2bin-toolkit that dumps to a special readable and reversible hexadecimal byte-dump, where you can not only change bytes, but also insert or delete bytes. It has a flush-switch, where it will output hexbytes for each single char it reads. This is especially useful (imho) for watching output from slow devices (e.g., serial devices like mice). The hex2bin-utility (the reverse-hexdump) not only accepts hexbytes for input, but also double-quoted strings with most of the escape-chars known from C and makes good attempts at undumping even hexdumps with repetition-lines (a "*" on its own line). It's written in ANSI C.
FireStorm/DAO is a Java Code Generator that can import existing database schemas (from a SQL script or from a live JDBC connection) and can then generate a complete persistence tier. It generates Java source code and configuration files that developers would otherwise have to write by hand, and that is compliant with the Data Access Object (DAO) design pattern.
