XMLToaster is a tool for extracting and loading XML from databases. It provides a modified version of SQL which has XML mapping extenstions. It can be compared to the "for xml" command in MS SQL Server 2008, but it runs on all common databases and scales to handle very large XML mappings without too much complexity. It is used as a Java library to write XML interfaces, but can also be run as a command line tool.
DJ Native Swing allows you to easily integrate some native components into Swing applications, and provides some native utilities to enhance Swing's APIs. The main focus is the integration of a native Web browser and Flash Player using a Swing-like API. All the threading issues and general integration headaches are handled automatically. It uses SWT under the hood, and thus should work everywhere SWT can be placed inside a Swing component.
P~ (pronounced "P tilde") is a Java-like scripting language and regular expression engine. P~ offers novel powers to match, extract, and transform documents. Regex novelties include an easy-to-read algebraic syntax and general capture and statement insertion side-effects. This is a great benefit to Java users, who no longer need to outsource difficult regex problems to Perl/Python scripts, since ptilde is offered as a Java library as well as a standalone scripting engine.
Piccolo2D is a toolkit that supports the development of 2D structured graphics programs, in general, and Zoomable User Interfaces (ZUIs), in particular. A ZUI is a new kind of interface that presents a huge canvas of information on a traditional computer display by letting the user smoothly zoom in to get more detailed information and zoom out for an overview. It uses a "scene-graph" model that is common to 3D environments. This means that Piccolo maintains a hierarchical structure of objects and cameras.
