FIGlet is a program for making large letters out of ordinary text. It prints its input using large characters made up of ordinary screen characters. FIGlet output is generally reminiscent of the sort of "signatures" many people like to put at the end of email and UseNet messages. It is also reminiscent of the output of some banner programs, although it is oriented normally, not sideways.
OpenSyncro is an enterprise application integration (EAI) tool. It runs on the Apache Tomcat application server and has a Web browser interface for setting up and maintaining component based integration processes. Features include data converters from CSV tables and other text based data formats to XML, support for XSL transformations (XSLT 2.0), calling Web Services, accessing files on FTP/HTTP servers, and databases via JDBC. A connector for Smilehouse Workspace webshops is also built-in. OpenSyncro can be extended with Connector Packs for ERP/CRM systems.
Linguistic Tree Constructor is an application for drawing linguistic syntax trees. Its main strength is assisting in data production by quickly analyzing large amounts of text. "Generic" trees are supported, as well as RRG and X-Bar trees. Node-categories are user-definable, and additional user-definable labels can also be applied to each node. Publication-quality, high-resolution, horizontal trees can be drawn. The file format is based on TIGER-XML.
AntFlow builds upon Apache Ant to provide a new approach to simplifying system automation that uses pipelines of hot folders chained together to perform a given task. Using XML, it associates an automated task such as data transfer, encryption, or XML processing with a directory on the local system. Whenever a file is copied or written into the hot folder, the associated task is executed and the file is moved to the next hot folder in the pipeline for further processing.
Absolut Engine is a PHP/MySQL framework built on the basis of a former news publishing system. It features 3 layer access, article posting, editing, and deleting. Included are a basic image and file manager as well as a related articles manager. Rich text editing is provided via a built-in WYSIWYG editor that produces XHTML 1.0 Strict compliant code. It is easy to extend via the module functionality. It is fully configurable and easy-to-use. Modules include discussions, surveys, RSS feed export and import, search engine optimization, a messaging system, weather reports, and Google Maps.
Change is a non-interactive text editor, similar to sed, but much easier to use. It works by substituting a specified target pattern in the source text with another specified text pattern. It can operate on multiple files specified on the command line, or it can operate upon stdin/stdout in filter mode.
