libCVD is a very portable and high performance C++ library for computer vision, image, and video processing. The emphasis is on providing simple and efficient image and video handling and high quality implementations of common low-level image processing function. The library is designed in a loosely-coupled manner, so that parts can be used easily in isolation if the whole library is not required. The video grabbing module provides a simple, uniform interface for videos from a variety of sources (live and recorded) and allows easy access to the raw pixel data. Likewise, the image loading/saving module provides simple, uniform interfaces for loading and saving images from bitmaps to 64 bit per channel RGBA images. The image processing routines can be applied easily to images and video, and accelerated versions exist for platforms supporting SSE.
libmng-py is a Python wrapper around the libmng C library. It currently supports the most important parts of the library, and supports displaying and usage with the most popular toolkits (such as pygame and wxPython). It runs on Mac OS X, Linux, and Windows on all architectures on which ctypes also runs.
Linphone is an audio and video Internet phone with GTK+ and console interfaces. It uses the SIP protocol, and is compatible with most SIP clients and gateways. It can use various audio and video codecs such as Speex, GSM, G711, G722, ilbc, amr, Theora, H263-1998, MPEG4, H264, VP8, and snow.
m3ute2 is a CLI program designed for easily moving subsets of large media collections from one location to another while providing information to the user about what it is doing. The media hive is a streaming media server and Web-based content/playlist manager. It emphasizes usability by making it easy to manage a media catalog that contains multiple media types (mp3, mp4, ogg, flac, mpg, and avi), and by providing a very full-featured playlist. It also emphasizes extensibility by making it easy to develop new media parsers, playlist actions, event handlers, skins, and more. It has an entire custom tag library devoted to skin development, making it simple for the non-developer to create radically different Web-based user interfaces. It has no installation dependencies and runs on multiple platforms.
Mediastreamer is a portable C library that allows you to create and run audio and video streams. It is designed for any kind of voice over IP applications. It features RTP connectivity, audio codecs (Speex, iLBC, G711, GSM, and AMR), video codecs (MPEG4, H263, H264, and Theora), sound card I/O, wav file streaming, webcam video capture, echo-cancellation, conferencing, parametric equalization, and various other utilities. It has a modular design that makes it extensible through plugins. This is the media-streaming component of linphone, a GPL SIP video phone.
