The Geospatial Data Abstraction Library (GDAL) is a unifying C/C++ API for accessing raster geospatial data, and currently includes formats like GeoTIFF, Erdas Imagine, Arc/Info Binary, CEOS, DTED, GXF, and SDTS. It is intended to provide efficient access, suitable for use in viewer applications, and also attempts to preserve coordinate systems and metadata. Python, C, and C++ interfaces are available.
freeglut is intended to be a 100% plug-compatible clone, and is released under the Xfree license. The GLUT (OpenGL Utility Toolkit) is a widely used library for doing window control, keyboard, and mouse input, and other basic functions for OpenGL programs. However, GLUT is not OpenSourced - although it's source code is available under a somewhat ill-defined set of restrictions. Hence, 'freeglut'.

Shapelib is widely used for commercial and free projects. Shapelib includes command line utilities for dumping, subsetting, clipping, shifting, scaling, and reprojecting shapefiles.
GraphicsMagick is a robust collection of tools and libraries which support reading, writing, and manipulating an image in over 90 major formats including popular formats like DPX, DICOM, BMP, GIF, JPEG, JPEG-2000, PDF, PNG, PNM, SVG, and TIFF. A high-quality 2D renderer is included, which provides a subset of SVG capabilities. C, C++, Perl, Tcl, and Ruby are supported. Originally based on ImageMagick, GraphicsMagick focuses on performance, minimizing bugs, and providing stable APIs and ABIs. It runs on all modern variants of Unix, Windows, and Mac OS X.
OpenGLUT is an open source project to evolve the GLUT API. It uses the FreeGLUT code base as a foundation for extending, enhancing, and refining the library interface. The initial goal is to define and implement OpenGLUT API Version 1.0, which is intended to supercede the GLUT 3.x API.
Znap is a small network audio mixing daemon. It can load streams supported by the fmod library (Ogg MP3, WAV, etc.) and mix them together. It can be controlled via TCP or XML-RPC. It supports playlists and has an SQLite backend. Future releases will provide scheduling capabilities, making it able to act like radio automation software.
