XBoard is a graphical chessboard for X that can serve as a user interface to play against any of a variety of chess engines that run on your local machine, or against human or computer opponents on an Internet chess server. XBoard can also be used by itself to read and write game files in PGN (portable game notation). WinBoard is a port of XBoard to Microsoft Win32.

GNU FreeDink is a portable and enhanced version of the Dink Smallwood game engine. It aims at running the original game as well as its D-Mods (Dink MODules, or add-ons), with close compatibility, under new platforms. The internals of the engines are being cleaned up to allow for portability and later improvements.

Micropolis is a city simulation game engine based on the original classic SimCity source code. Micropolis is based on the Tcl/Tk version of SimCity. It consists of the micropolis module, which is the engine recast as a C++ class; the cellengine module, which is a cellular automata machine engine; and the tileengine module, which is a Cairo based tile renderer. It is intended to be used with the OLPC's Sugar user interface environment, but layered so the core code is useful in other contexts.
Profit is a clone of the board game Acquire. Players places tiles on a board to form companies, then buy stocks in those companies. As a company grows, its stock becomes more valuable. If a tile is placed that connects two companies, however, the larger one will acquire the smaller one. The winner is the one with the most money at the end of the game.
