3Delight is a very fast RenderMan-compliant renderer designed to produce photorealistic images for serious production environments. Some of its features include ray tracing, global illumination, motion blur, depth of field, subdivision surfaces, programmable shaders, quality antialiasing, and antialiased multi-depth shadow maps. The API and the shading language are very similar to what is described in the RenderMan interface documentation.
album is a free HTML/XHTML photo album and gallery generator that supports themes/skins. You can choose different themes or write your own to get different layouts and styles. It creates all your thumbnails (including directory thumbnails) and descends into directories so you can organize your photos. See the home page for more examples. album is also multi-lingual, with many languages being added all the time. N.B.: The purchase link is provided for donations; the software does not cost anything.
Coin is an implementation of Open Inventor. Open Inventor is the de facto standard API for retained-mode 3D graphics programming. Open Inventor has a highly extensible design, and has been designed to allow for rapid development of highly interactive 3D graphics applications in the fields of CAD, engineering, scientific computing, simulation, VRML, and visualization.
The Geospatial Data Abstraction Library (GDAL) is a unifying C/C++ API for accessing raster geospatial data, and currently includes formats like GeoTIFF, Erdas Imagine, Arc/Info Binary, CEOS, DTED, GXF, and SDTS. It is intended to provide efficient access, suitable for use in viewer applications, and also attempts to preserve coordinate systems and metadata. Python, C, and C++ interfaces are available.
Glt is a library of C++ classes and routines for programming interactive 3D graphics with OpenGL. The aim of Glt is to augment the OpenGL API with convenient mechanisms for manipulating the OpenGL state machine. Glt is a work in progress, and by no means covers the entire OpenGL specification. However, it already includes several useful classes and is designed so that additional classes can be added easily. In addition to Glt, the GlutMaster classes provide C++ wrappers for the GLUT API.
