ds3, short for dialup service 3, is a modem sharing server for Linux/UNIX. It allows no direct access to the modem/ISDN-adapter. Instead it provides a text based interface which can be accessed via telnet or by a client. Currently a java client, a gtk based client and a small gnome applet are available. Features of ds3 include user authentification and scripts or programs may be lauched through events created by users or triggered by an interval.
getmail is intended as a simple, secure, and reliable replacement for fetchmail. It retrieves email (either all messages, or only unread messages) from one or more POP3, SPDS, or IMAP4 servers (with or without SSL) for one or more email accounts, and reliably delivers into qmail-style Maildirs, mboxrd files, or through external MDAs (command deliveries) specified on a per-account basis. getmail also has excellent support for domain (multidrop) mailboxes, including delivering messages to different users or destinations based on the envelope recipient address.
GNet is a network library. It is object-oriented, written in C, and built upon GLib. It is intended to be easy to use and port. It supports abstract Internet addresses, TCP, UDP, IP Multicast, IPv6, asynchronous DNS lookups, SHA, MD5, Base64, URIs, and SOCKS. It comes with documentation and examples.
NetPlug is an extensible multi-connections, multi-protocol, network client program, written in pure Tcl/Tk. Includes a complete Irc client plug in that you should love if you like IrcII 'classic' look & feel (plus customizable style/colors scheme, sound,... Now includes full DCC support (with GUI), ircII like aliases and improved scripting (Tcl!), keywords (your nick...) highlighting, and more
nget is a commandline NNTP file grabber. It automatically pieces together multipart postings for easy retrieval, even substituting parts from multiple servers and newsgroups. It handles disconnects gracefully, resuming after the last part successfully downloaded, and caching of header data for quick access. It automatically downloads only as many par/par2 files as needed.
The GNU Gatekeeper is a free H.323 gatekeeper based on the OpenH323 project. You can use it to manage a Voice-over-IP network and let endpoints (e.g., Netmeeting) communicate through symbolic names. It also has an external interface for billing and other applications. It runs on a number of Unix versions (including Linux and Solaris) and Windows.
pftp allows you to send and receive files and directories recursively, send and receive standard input and ouput, filter your connection, set the net buffer size, set the bandwidth, send UDP datagrams unicasted, broadcasted, and multicasted (which is meant for AUDIO and VIDEO streaming), send data to another user and manage that data, perform a network test based on either UDP or TCP, and use optimized buffers for your Gigabit Ethernet links. pftp can start from command line, as a daemon, or by inetd. All features are supported for IPv4 and IPv6.
UProxy is a proxy for UDP protocols. UProxy was initially designed to allow users to play Unreal Tournament matches over the Internet on computers sharing a dial up connection. It could also be used by any client-server application that uses the UDP protocol and doesn't require clients to bind a fixed port. UProxy should run under Windows, Linux, or any OS which supports BSD sockets.
WANPIPE S-series is a family of intelligent multi-protocol WAN and ADSL adapters that support data transfer rates up to 8Mbps. All WAN protocols supported by WANPIPE are implemented in firmware and run on the card. An advantage of an intelligent adapter is that it offloads the system CPU and improves stability. By adding a Sangoma WAN/ADSL component to the Linux kernel, one can create a powerful multi-T1/ADSL router/firewall with proven reliability of Linux. Sangoma S-series cards support an optional on board T1/E1 CSU/DSU that eliminates all external components of a traditional routing solution: i.e. T1/E1 line can be directly connected to the card. WANPIPE supports the following protocols, ATM, ADSL, Frame Relay, PPP, MULTILINK PPP, CHDLC, X25(API), BitStreaming (API), BiSync(API), and SDLC(API). Furthermore, WANPIPE supports custom API development such as: Credit card verification, Voice-over IP, Satellite Comm. All device drivers are part of the standard Linux Kernel distribution.
