TAU (Tuning and Analysis Utilities) is a set of tools for analyzing the performance of C, C++, Fortran and Java programs. It collects much more information than is available through prof or gprof, the standard Unix utilities, including per-process, per-thread, and per-host information, inclusive and exclusive function times, profiling groups that allow you to organize data collection, access to hardware counters on some systems, per-class and per-instance information, the ability to separate data for each template instantiation, start/stop timers for profiling arbitrary sections of code, and support for collection of statistics on user-defined events.
FroZenLight interrelates line arts, mathematics, and cryptography. Circular shaped mirrors which are arranged in a grid-like manner reflect a light ray according to the reflection law of geometric optics. While random positions of the light source produce chaotic reflection patterns, it is possible to position the light source so that beautiful symmetric reflection patterns are created.
Platform Independent Petri Net Editor (PIPE) creates and analyses Petri Nets quickly, efficiently, and effectively. A key design feature is the modular approach adopted for analysis, enabling new modules to be written easily and powerfully, using built-in data layer methods for standard calculations. Six analysis modules are provided, including Invariant Analysis, State-Space Analysis (deadlock, etc.), and Simulation Analysis and Classification. PIPE adheres to the XML Petri net standard (PNML). The file format for saving and loading Petri Nets is extensible through the use of XSLT, the default being PNML.
The Chemistry Development Kit (CDK) is a library of Java classes for chemo-, bioinformatics, computational chemistry, and chemometrics. It provides important algorithms like substructure search, SMILES, Gasteiger charges, QSAR descriptor calculation, 3D structure generation, 2D layout and rendering, many IO formats, atom typing, and more.
Collaba is a multimedia collaboration and communication server built to provide digital workspaces to virtual educational, corporate, and other communities. It features secure email (Web, POP3/SMTP, crypto, and anti-spam), online forums (Web, RSS, NNTP, and podcast), blogs (Web, RSS, podcast), multimedia chat (text, multimedia panel, etc.), personal and group calendering, address books, bookmarks, an online Web page editor, file services and CMS (Web, WebDAV, FTP, SMB, CIFS, anvi-virus API, and ClamAV support), digital portfolio, dynamic news board, directory access, support for multiple independent communities on one server, Single-Sign-On features (built-in support for LDAP, CAS 2.0, JAAS, SMTP-Auth and more, powerful developer API), full online server management, anti-spam (RBL and filters), anti-virus support, centralized management with LDAP directories, Web publishing of personal, group or general web sites, developer APIs, and much more.
Greenfoot is an integrated development environment that makes it easy to write games and simulations in Java. It comes with a broad range of demo scenarios and documentation that gets newcomers started very quickly. Greenfoot may be used to learn or teach programming, or just to write a cool game and maybe put it up on a Web site. (it can export the game to a Web page). It was originally developed for school age learners, but is now used by all age groups.
The PARSEC (Preliminary Analysis of Revolutionary Space Exploration Concepts) CEE (Collaborative Engineering Environment) creates a single-user interface for engineers and scientists to work together to design launch vehicle and spacecraft concepts. The interface allows for seamless integration of design tools for any discipline as well as communication with other team members. Data storage and maintenance is handled automatically. The interface gives users the ability to run multiple design codes and iterative analyses. Branching and other logic operations are also supported. Some data reduction ability is provided as well.
Visual Paradigm for UML is a Unified Modeling Language (UML) design tool that supports all UML diagrams, SysML diagrams, and entity relationship diagrams. Visual Paradigm for UML provides extensive use case modeling features, including full function UML use case diagram, flow of events editor, use case/actor grid, and activity diagram generation. Visual Paradigm for UML produces system documentation in PDF, HTML, and MS Word formats. A developer can design system documentation with the template designer. A system analyst can estimate the consequences of changes with impact analysis diagrams, such as matrix and analysis diagram. Visual Paradigm for UML generates Java code.
SDE for NetBeans is a UML modeling environment tightly integrated with NetBeans. It lets you draw all types of UML diagrams (use case diagram, class diagram, sequence diagram, activity diagram, etc.) in NetBeans, reverse source code (Java, C++, XML, XML Schema, CORBA IDL, etc.) to UML models, and generate Java source from UML diagrams. It features a Rational Rose importer, an XMI importer, HTML/PDF documentation generators, and plug-in and template support.
