XMLToaster is a tool for extracting and loading XML from databases. It provides a modified version of SQL which has XML mapping extenstions. It can be compared to the "for xml" command in MS SQL Server 2008, but it runs on all common databases and scales to handle very large XML mappings without too much complexity. It is used as a Java library to write XML interfaces, but can also be run as a command line tool.
FrAid (Fr[actal] Aid) is a programming language that is appropriate for mathematical computations, visualization, batch processing, and more. It features both a standalone application that provides a programming environment for the language and a system for integrating the language with Java. The Java interface allows mathematical equations and formulas to be used with Java code, making it easier to process numerical computations, symbolic computations, imaging, CAD, and more.
jNetStream is a sniffer and a protocol analyzer. A set of applications and complete Java library are provided with a comprehensive API. Hundreds of protocols have been defined, and the list can be expanded with a simple NPL language. It is appropriate for custom protocol development, grad students, and network teachers/professors.
FireStorm/DAO is a Java Code Generator that can import existing database schemas (from a SQL script or from a live JDBC connection) and can then generate a complete persistence tier. It generates Java source code and configuration files that developers would otherwise have to write by hand, and that is compliant with the Data Access Object (DAO) design pattern.

The intent is similar to that of the ncurses library, but done in pure Java. Several commonly used widgets are available.
JChassis ANSI Terminal Controller is a Java API for controlling ANSI-compliant terminals and terminal emulators such a Linux virtual terminals, xterm, Gnome Terminal, and KDE Konsole. The library can be used to display character styles and colors and graphical characters in those environments. It is a repackaging of various JChassis modules into a standalone library that does not require the JChassis SDK or framework.
