Launch4j is a cross-platform tool for wrapping Java applications distributed as jars in Windows native executables. The executable can be configured to search for a certain JRE version or use a bundled one, and it's possible to set runtime options, like the initial/max heap size. The wrapper also provides better user experience through an application icon, a native pre-JRE splash screen, and a Java download page in case the appropriate JRE cannot be found. The increase in size of the application is small.

bitstring is a Python module that helps to make the creation and analysis of binary data as simple and natural as possible. Objects can be constructed from integers (big and little endian), floats, hex, octal, binary, byte data, iterables, or files. They can be sliced, joined, reversed, packed, unpacked, inserted into, overwritten, and otherwise operated upon with simple functions or slice notation. They can also be parsed, searched, and navigated in, similar to a file or stream. Internally the data is efficiently stored as byte arrays. It is available for Python 2.6 and later (including Python 3).

Curie is a very minimalistic, tiny C library. It supports basic I/O, basic networking, S-expression based I/O, signal handling, process handling, and I/O multiplexing. If the target architecture is explicitly supported, statically linked binaries may be as small as 4-20 kilobytes; if not, then it only relies on the host's C library. The library explicitly does not provide a POSIX interface so that it may be used in conjunction with a regular host libc (or without one).

Cobra is a general purpose programming language with a clean, high-level syntax. It provides language level features for quality, including first class unit tests and Eiffel-style contracts. It supports both static and dynamic binding. Cobra is a compiled language with good run-time performance, but also provides some scripting conveniences such as a pound-bang line (#!) and one step compile-and-run. Cobra runs on Linux, Mac, Windows, and anywhere else that Novell Mono or MS .NET exist, including handhelds.

chem is a command line tool and JavaScript code library that helps you to rapidly prototype 2D canvas-based video games for the Web. It automatically creates a sprite sheet for your assets and loads the assets at runtime, provides an API for drawing animated sprites in a canvas, and uses browserify to compile your code, allowing you to harness the power of code on npm. Everything from code to sprite sheets are compiled automatically when you save. It handles the main loop and frame skipping, provides an API for keyboard and mouse input, and bootstraps the resource loading process, optionally providing a basic loading progress bar.
