For users on Linux and Unix, KDE offers a full suite of user workspace applications which allow interaction with these operating systems in a modern, graphical user interface. This includes Plasma Desktop, KDE's innovative and powerful desktop interface. Other workspace applications are included to aid with system configuration, running programs, or interacting with hardware devices. While the fully integrated KDE Workspaces are only available on Linux and Unix, some of these features are available on other platforms. In addition to the workspace, KDE produces a number of key applications such as the Konqueror Web browser, Dolphin file manager, and Kontact, the comprehensive personal information management suite. The list of applications includes many others, including those for education, multimedia, office productivity, networking, games, and much more. Most applications are available on all platforms supported by the KDE Development. KDE also brings to the forefront many innovations for application developers. Turbulence is a general BEEP server that provides many site administration features. Turbulence is built on top of the Vortex library and is extensible through modules and allows you to implement server side profiles that are used and combined later with other profiles through run time configuration. Turbulence is written to make it easy to develop and deploy BEEP profiles, allowing developers to provide a convenient configuration interface to site administrators and end users.
Libporty provides a higher level API for some commonly used library functions such as sockets, date/time, file system access, background processes, and asynchronous DNS resolving. Libporty is configured using scconfig and the API is guaranteed to work the same way on all supported systems. An application that exclusively uses the libporty API will not require autotools/scconfig for porting. Libporty has been tested on Linux, Windows, Mac OS X, multiple BSD variants, Minix, OpenSolaris, and some ancient Unix systems.
GNU SASL is an implementation of the Simple Authentication and Security Layer framework and a few common SASL mechanisms. SASL is used by network servers such as IMAP and SMTP to request authentication from clients, and in clients to authenticate against servers. The library includes support for the SASL framework (with authentication functions and application data privacy and integrity functions) and at least partial support for the CRAM-MD5, EXTERNAL, GSSAPI, ANONYMOUS, PLAIN, SECURID, DIGEST-MD5, LOGIN, NTLM, and KERBEROS_V5 mechanisms.

It is easy to use and provides a packet scheduler for sending and receiving packets on time, adaptive jitter compensation, automatic sending of RTCP compound packets, and the RTCP parser API. It works with IPv6.
MiniWebsvr is a small Web server that aims to one day be embeddable. It supports static Web pages, directory listing, HTTP MIME encodings, GET/HEAD/OPTIONS, and logging to disk. It has a small memory footprint, is multi-threaded, and supports command line options, conditional GET:, If-Modified-Since:, and range-bound downloads (download resuming).
