Cego implements a relational and transactional database system with support for the SQL query language. The current release contains the most common database features for basic table manipulation and data retrieval. Indexes, foreign keys, views, and stored procedures are also implemented. Future releases (2.0 and above) will support a multi-node database concept with log file shipping for an automatic database application failover.
MUSCLE (Multi User Server Client Linking Environment) is an N-way messaging server and networking API. It includes client-side networking APIs for various languages, including C, C++, C#, Delphi, Java, and Python. MUSCLE lets programs communicate over a network via streams of serialized Message objects. The included server program ("muscled") lets its clients message each other and store information in its server-side hierarchical database. The database supports flexible queries via hierarchical wildcarding, and "live" updates via a subscription mechanism.
Groonga is a fast and accurate full text search engine based on an inverted index. Newly registered document instantly appears in search results, and updates are allowed without read locks. These characteristics result in superior performance for real-time applications. It is also a column-oriented database management system (DBMS). Compared with well-known row-oriented systems, such as MySQL and PostgreSQL, column-oriented systems are more suited for aggregate queries.
hamsterdb Embedded Storage is an embedded database engine for C/C++, including wrappers for Java, .NET, and Erlang. It supports in-memory databases, very fast database cursors, "record number" databases, ACID transactions, and duplicate keys. hamsterdb is very fast and highly configurable. It compiles and runs on Unix platforms, Linux, Microsoft Windows, and embedded platforms.
ODB is a compiler-based object-relational mapping (ORM) system for C++. It allows you to persist C++ objects to a relational database without having to deal with tables, columns, or SQL and without manually writing any mapping code. The C++ code that performs the conversion between persistent classes and their database representation is automatically generated by the ODB compiler. The ODB compiler is a real C++ compiler except that instead of producing assembly or machine code, it generates portable C++, which can in turn be compiled by any C++ compiler. ODB is not a framework. It does not dictate how you should write your application. Rather, it is designed to fit into your style and architecture by only handling C++ object persistence and not interfering with any other functionality.
Database Deployment Manager (DDM) is a desktop oriented multi-platform database design tool that allows database administrators and programmers to create database structures (using an object oriented methodology) and deploy them into an existing database. The tool allows creation of diagrams to identify basic relations between the defined structures. You can import tables from various databases, either by fully reversing a database or just picking tables from various databases and injecting them into your solution. You can browse the databases and execute SQL queries on them. There is a unique SELECT query builder that makes the building of queries very easy without having to write a single SQL statement; just using point and click with the mouse.
W-Packager is a packager similar to dpkg that can be used by anyone to create and maintain Debian packages under Linux or other Unix systems. The aim of the project is primarily to have a workable version of a packager that can be compiled on many systems, including those that do not support fork(). At this time, W-Packager is used within UniGW. It can also be used under Linux.
The OODBMS/DBMS ODABA is an terminology-oriented database management system (TODBMS) on a high conceptual level. This is an extension of the ODBMS concept according to ODMG 3. It provides a number of enhanced features based on natural language analysis. Beside the database kernel, a number of tools are provided for database design, documentation, and fast development. ODABA provides a powerful interface (C++, .NET) and an ODABA Script Interface (OSI), a C++/JAVA like scripting language, which provides easy access to the database.
