cdrtools (formerly cdrecord) creates home-burned CDs/DVDs with a CDR/CDRW/DVD/BluRay recorder. It works as a burn engine for several applications. It supports CD/DVD/BD recorders from many different vendors; all SCSI-3/mmc- and ATAPI/mmc-compliant drives should also work. Supported features include IDE/ATAPI, parallel port, and SCSI drives; audio CDs, data CDs, and mixed CDs; full multi-session support; CD-RWs, DVD-R/-RW, DVD+R/+RW, BD-R/BD-RE; and TAO, DAO, RAW, and human-readable error messages. cdrtools includes remote SCSI support and can access local or remote CD/DVD/BD writers.
album is a free HTML/XHTML photo album and gallery generator that supports themes/skins. You can choose different themes or write your own to get different layouts and styles. It creates all your thumbnails (including directory thumbnails) and descends into directories so you can organize your photos. Bigloo is an implementation of the Scheme programming language. It relies on an optimizing compiler from Scheme to C. Bigloo enables connections between Scheme code and C code. It proposes many extensions to Scheme such as a regular parser compiler, an lalr parser compiler, pattern matching, an object layer, etc.
ccaudio2 is a simple, highly portable, stand-alone, C++-based framework for manipulation of audio data. Its goal is to be a C++ framework that is as useful as "audiofile" or "sndfile" is for C programming, and to cover various generic and useful manipulations of audio data as well as audio file access. A stand-alone audio processing command line tool is also provided to demonstrate library functionality. ccaudio2 compiles under Mac OS X, POSIX systems, and Win32 systems.
ClanLib is a cross-platform game SDK currently supporting Windows and Linux. It provides easy-to-use interfaces for 2D graphics, input, sound, resources, networking, GUI, OpenGL, and more. The goal is to provide a game SDK that does all the dirty work that all modern games need to implement anyway, thus making the game developer concentrate on the gameplay instead of reinventing the wheel over and over again.
Ghostscript is a processor for PostScript and PDF files. It can rasterize these files to a wide variety of printers, devices for screen preview, and image file formats. Since applications tend to prepare pages for printing in a high-level format such as PostScript, most Unix users with low-level bitmap printers, such as inkjets, use GhostScript as part of the printing process. In addition, Ghostscript is capable of converting PostScript files, functionality comparable to Adobe Acrobat Distiller, but on the command line. In addition, Ghostscript is used for file import and viewing by a great many other applications, including xv, ImageMagick, gimp, and xdvi. Several GUI wrappers for viewing PostScript and PDF files exist, including GSview, ghostview, gv, ggv, and kghostview. This is far from a comprehensive list.
