For users on Linux and Unix, KDE offers a full suite of user workspace applications which allow interaction with these operating systems in a modern, graphical user interface. This includes Plasma Desktop, KDE's innovative and powerful desktop interface. Other workspace applications are included to aid with system configuration, running programs, or interacting with hardware devices. While the fully integrated KDE Workspaces are only available on Linux and Unix, some of these features are available on other platforms. In addition to the workspace, KDE produces a number of key applications such as the Konqueror Web browser, Dolphin file manager, and Kontact, the comprehensive personal information management suite. The list of applications includes many others, including those for education, multimedia, office productivity, networking, games, and much more. Most applications are available on all platforms supported by the KDE Development. KDE also brings to the forefront many innovations for application developers. An entire infrastructure has been designed and implemented to help programmers create robust and comprehensive applications in the most efficient manner, eliminating the complexity and tediousness of creating highly functional applications.
GCompris is an educational software suite with numerous activities for children aged 2 to 10. Some of the activities are game-orientated, but nonetheless still educational. These include computer discovery (keyboard, mouse, different mouse gestures), algebra (table memory, enumeration, double entry table, mirror image), science (the canal lock, the water cycle, the submarine, electric simulation), geography (place the country on the map), games (chess, memory, connect 4, oware, sudoku), reading practice, and others (learn to tell time, puzzles of famous paintings, vector drawing, cartoon making, etc.). It currently offers in excess of 100 activities, and more are being developed.

DiskSearch is a tool for searching for files on all your removable media disks, including CDs, ZIP disks, and backup tapes. It allows you to search for songs on your MP3 CDs or for a document on your backup DVDs. For advanced queries, a regular expression search mode is provided. Searches are based on a simple database file, which needs to be filled once by adding all your disks to it.
MudMagic Mud Client is a GTK/GNOME multi-platform MUD client. It provides aliases, triggers, multiple connections, plugins, MCCP, ZMP, MSP, tabbed sessions, ANSI color, and a game list that can be updated from mudmagic.com. It is configurable on a per-session basis. Plugins include an automapper, database, and note pad.
PyGUI is a GUI API which is designed specifically for Python, taking advantage of Python's unique language features and working smoothly with Python's data types on the three major platforms (Unix, Macintosh, and Windows) that are small and lightweight, interposing as little code as possible between the Python application and the platform's underlying GUI facilities, and not bloating the Python installations or applications which use them.
