DAE Tools is cross-platform equation-oriented process modelling, simulation, and optimization software. Various types of processes (lumped or distributed, steady-state or dynamic) can be modelled and optimized. They may range from very simple to those which require complex operating procedures. Equations can be ordinary or discontinuous, where discontinuities are automatically handled by the framework. Model reports containing all information about a model can be exported in XML MathML format, automatically creating high-quality documentation. The simulation results can be visualized, plotted, and/or exported into various formats.
Data Validator is a class to validate a set of values based on a list of rules. It supports the following validation orders: sequence (fields validated sequentially), all-at-once, and both (using a dependencies model). It can embed different user-defined validation rules libraries (a default built-in library is provided).
Form Saver is a PHP class which fills form inputs with submitted values. It can capture the output of the current page with a form template to extract the list of inputs, process and extract the values of a just-submitted form, and alter the form template to insert submitted input values. The processed form template is output to show the form filled with the submitted values.
Libgda is a (relatively small) database access library. It provides a wrapper like ODBC but with more features for accessing several database engines, a general data model for use with CSV or XML files, a metadata extractor that retrieves information about database objects in a common way, and a SQL console application (like mysql, psql or sqlite3 consoles).
PyGUI is a GUI API which is designed specifically for Python, taking advantage of Python's unique language features and working smoothly with Python's data types on the three major platforms (Unix, Macintosh, and Windows) that are small and lightweight, interposing as little code as possible between the Python application and the platform's underlying GUI facilities, and not bloating the Python installations or applications which use them.
Silverpeas is a collaborative Web portal. It is used to classify the contents on themes, independent of the spaces and folders in which they are stored. It supports subscribing to themes. The WYSIWYG interface for editing was simplified. The portal is accessed by way of a Web browser. There are personalized tools for the workspace. Interfaces and glossaries are available in multiple languages (French and English).
StarORF is a tool that facilitates the identification of the protein(s) encoded in DNA sequences and allows for transforming input sequence in its reverse complements. It allows students to define the minimal ORF length detected and highlighted by the software. Students can see putative ORF protein sequence (longer than specified ORF length), visualize start and stop codons in the sequence, and navigate imported sequences. The StarORF site contains a software user manual, video tutorial, and exercises applicable to high school and college classrooms.
