The XE Toolkit is a multi-platform, network-aware, secure performance monitoring solution for tactical analysis of enterprise computing systems. It uses Java and provides an API in the form of Java jar files that contain the programmatic interfaces needed to craft custom tools. It remains a toolkit, perhaps more complex than the SE Toolkit, but also far more versatile.
The 'expp' tool (the Epeios XML preprocessor) reads an XML file to transform it to another XML file. It simplifies the writing of XML files by allowing the handling of macros, the definition and testing of variables, the inclusion of files, and more. This is done by writing, directly in the source XML file, predefined tags owned by a given namespace, tags which are then recognized and handled by the 'expp' tool. The tool is also available as a Java native component.
Solis Reports is a Web-based, general purpose reporting application designed for easy data access and simplicity. Originally designed as a reporting and planning tool for the SOLIS CRM/ERP product, it can be used with any relational database that allows a JDBC connection. It has two parts: report creation and report inspection. While the first requires basic SQL knowledge, the second can be used by all computer-aware staff in a simple manner. The reports allow filtering, sorting, grouping, and exporting to XLS files for further processing.
BitEvolution is an easy-to-use client/server application that you can use to keep your distributed application up to date. Modeled after the Apache ANT project, it is a task-based application intended to eliminate the work required to write, test, and debug a home-grown update application. Your distributed application does not have to be written in Java to take advantage of BitEvolution.
AMPC compiles C programs directly into Java bytecode to run on any platform where a Java runtime is available. AMPC can also be used to integrate C and Java programs since AMPC's C functions can directly call numerous Java methods and vice versa. AMPC supports ANSI C 1989 (ISO C 1990). A JNI (JVM Native Interface) feature is available for calling native C or C++ functions. AMPC supports the C standard library as well as TCP/IP, ODBC, and graphics libraries. J2ME CDC 1.1 for mobile devices is also supported.
Magic Mirror Backup works by copying the files and folders on your computer to other computers within your office. In exchange, these other computers also copy their own files onto your computer. This sharing of backups has quite a few advantages not the least of which are that it is extremely convenient and cost effective. (This symbiotic mechanism for backing up data is often called peer to peer backup or p2p backup.) There is also an optional off-site component so that you can additionally backup to a remote server to protect against office-wide failures like fire, theft, or hurricanes.
