Brain Workshop is an implementation of the Dual N-Back mental exercise. This exercise is a mental activity that has been scientifically shown to improve your working memory (short-term memory) and fluid intelligence. The game involves remembering a sequence of spoken letters and a sequence of positions of a square at the same time. Brain Workshop includes additional challenging game modes beyond Dual N-Back.

Micropolis is a city simulation game engine based on the original classic SimCity source code. Micropolis is based on the Tcl/Tk version of SimCity. It consists of the micropolis module, which is the engine recast as a C++ class; the cellengine module, which is a cellular automata machine engine; and the tileengine module, which is a Cairo based tile renderer. It is intended to be used with the OLPC's Sugar user interface environment, but layered so the core code is useful in other contexts.
Connect-k is a framework for experimenting with and testing general AIs for games within the connect-k family. This includes Tic-Tac-Toe, Go-moku (without removal rules), and Connect-6. The program features an attractive GTK+ interface, a convenient API, and several challenging AIs.
GeoQO is a waypoint, geocaching, and waymarking database. It is extremely fast and offers a wide variety of utilities for manipulating waypoints. Though designed for geocaching and waymarking, it should be usable for any waypoint management. It is highly extensible; writing new import, export, search, display, and other plugins is easy to do.
ChangeBlindness is a small game that demonstrates the change blindness phenomenon. The effect shows that our brains have a low-level (i.e. subconscious) change detection capability that can be disabled pretty easily (for instance, with a flicker of around 100ms). The game illustrates this using an increasing number of icons, one of which will change during a flicker. The goal of the game is to find the changing icon as quickly as possible.
Multiplication Station will teach your child to add, subtract, and multiply. It is a multi-user application with a simple admin interface. All parameters are configurable, like grid size and the fonts and colors of number ranges. A countdown timer is used to keep the player's attention focused. A list of high scores is maintained.
Burr Tools is a set of programs for solving some kinds of puzzles, namely puzzles that are made out of square, cube-shaped, spherical, or triangular units, and whose solution also contains only pieces aligned along those grids. The program finds assemblies for the puzzle and animates how you have to assemble for some of them.
Crogai is a mix of crowd simulation, artificial intelligence, and genetic algorithms. It is possible to set up simulations and test different AI in a full 3D environment with a small physics engine, terrain, collision handling, etc. Crogai is inspired by the OpenSteer projet and uses steering behaviors as building blocks for the AI. The agents can graze, hunt each other, and emit spores for reproduction. A genetic algorithm allows the agents to evolve, and let them decide whether to do so or not. In addition, the examples provided by the project make nice screensavers.
