Scintilla is a free source code editing component for Win32 and GTK+. As well as features found in standard text editing components, Scintilla includes features especially useful when editing and debugging source code. These include support for syntax styling, error indicators, code completion and call tips. Styling choices are more open than with many editors, allowing the use of proportional fonts, bold and italics, multiple foreground and background colours and multiple fonts.
SDPGTK wraps GTK using simple, clean C++ classes and a straightforward hierarchy. It integrates well with existing GTK code, and, unlike existing wrappers for GTK, does not force the developer into a UI "framework". Of particular interest is the sdpGtkObjectContainer class, which implements the proposed GTKML standard, for loading a GTK hierarchy and events from an XML document.
SetiContainer is a C++ class that allows convenient access to all the information in the state files of a SETI@home client. It periodically examines these files and updates its own data members accordingly. Other programs can use this class to extract information about the progress of the client, the found signals, or the work unit being processed. Additional functions offer more advanced info (like the amount of TeraFlops in a work unit, estimated time of completion, etc.). The SetiContainer class is based on the Qt toolkit, and extensively uses Qt's Signal/Slot technique.
SMOOTH is an object oriented windowing toolkit written in C++. It is meant to become an alternative to toolkits like Qt. SMOOTH provides classes for windowing, session management, object distribution, and multithreading. It currently only works under Win32, but a Linux port is being actively developed.
STklos is a free Scheme System conforming to R5RS. The implementation is based on an ad-hoc Virtual Machine. It can also be compiled as a library, so that one can easily embed it in an application. Its features include an efficient and powerful object system based on CLOS, a simple-to-use module system, implementation of the full tower of numbers defined in R5RS, and easy connection to the GTK+ toolkit. STklos is the successor of STk, a Scheme interpreter tightly connected to the Tk toolkit.
Tcl provides a portable scripting environment for Unix, Windows, and Macintosh that supports string processing and pattern matching, native file system access, shell-like control over other programs, TCP/IP networking, timers, and event-driven I/O. Tcl has traditional programming constructs like variables, loops, procedures, namespaces, error handling, script packages, and dynamic loading of DLLs. Tk provides portable GUIs on UNIX, Windows, and Macintosh. A powerful widget set and the concise scripting interface to Tk make it a breeze to develop sophisticated user interfaces.
