WebGL Earth is an application enabling you to explore, zoom, and “play” with a 3D globe directly in a Web browser on any platform including mobile devices, without a plugin. It supports detailed street-level data (via OpenStreetMap), detailed aerial imagery (via Bing Maps), and any other custom maps that are available in popular Mercator tiles (prepared by MapTiler, GDAL2Tiles, TileCache, GeoWebCache, OGC WMS, or OGC WMTS). It is written in JavaScript using the HTML5 Canvas tag with the WebGL extension. The code uses the Closure Library and Compiler, which is the same library that is behind GMail.

taccGL is a JavaScript canvas library for animating HTML elements and 3D objects as integrated scenes with depth buffering and shadows. It uses the GPU-accelerated HTML5 canvas (WebGL). Features include accelerated motion in 2D and 3D space, rotating, mapping of HTML elements on 3D objects, custom shaders, etc. The library loads 3D models from OBJ files. In WebGL mode, animations mostly run inside the GPU. Otherwise, there is a restricted fallback to the 2D canvas.

The Omega Project is a universe simulator accessible remotely by registered users over the JSON-RPC protocol. This allows the highest number of users and developers to access the universe and control ships / stations / other entities in via many mechanisms. The server listens for requests over a variety of protocols including TCP, HTTP, Websockets, AMQP, and more, and clients written in any language running on any platform may use these transports to communicate with it. Omega also ships with a WebGL frontend based on three.js, providing an interactive view into running simulations.
