AGENCY is software that allows non-profit organizations to track data and manage operations. It is a fork and continuation of CHASERS. AGENCY aims to become a collectively-maintained and developed project that puts organizations in charge of their data systems. There are currently two “flavors” of AGENCY: one for managing clients and services, case management, and such (think “social service”); and one for managing donations and volunteers (think “fundraising”). Features include a report generator, permissions and access control, the ability to merge reports to OpenOffice documents, a log system, and real-time alerts with email notification. In the client version, many tables and data structures are already set up for organizations doing human service, homeless services, or HMIS. The donor version is set up to track donors, addresses, gifts (cash and inkind), flags, volunteers, volunteer activities, and more.
fliXXery is a simple and intuitive movie and TV series database. It helps users organize their movies and list them by ID, title, year, length, genre, filetype, etc. It allows users to define their own genres, filetypes, and languages for their movies, so they don't have to bother with unsetting pre-defined values. It features different user rights levels. It is easy to install and setup, simple to backup and restore, and supports multiple languages.
The tox (Tomcat, Oracle, and XML) Web archive is a foundation for development of HTTP-based applications using Tomcat (or some other servlet container) and an Oracle RDBMS. It requires coding primarily in PL/SQL, JavaScript, and XSLT, but also in HTML, CSS, and potentially Java. It enables the construction of applications using the model/view/controller (MVC) design pattern. With a controller that executes interpreted XML for creating the model and view, developers can construct new functionality. The model is retrieved either via includes or by the execution of Oracle's stored procedures, and then passed to an XML stylesheet transform to construct and return the view. Different combinations and options provide rich dynamic content.
GPS Tracker allows someone to track a GPS enabled cell phone using Google Maps. The project was tested with a Motorola i355 cell phone on the Sprint/Nextel network. You need to have a data plan with the cell phone provider so that you can make updates to your Web site from the cell phone. There are two projects available. The first project is built with PHP and MySQL. The second project is built with .NET and Microsoft SQL Server. Both projects use Java (J2ME) on the cell phone.
Invenio (formerly CDSware) is a suite of applications that provides the framework and tools for building and managing an autonomous digital library server. It complies with the Open Archives Initiative metadata harvesting protocol (OAI-PMH) and uses MARC 21 as its underlying bibliographic standard. Its flexibility and performance make it a comprehensive solution for the management of document repositories of moderate to large size.
DemoWave is a Web application for conducting referendums that allows anyone to propose a new referendum, minimizes the negative effects of people "spamming" the system with bogus referendums, and makes referendums where people disagree a lot take longer to go through. In addition, it can manage a set of laws and referendums on changes to those laws. DemoWave is intended for democratic organizations that need to decrease the bureaucratic load and increase the participation of their members in the decision-making process.
xmltvdb creates a database from a set of xmltv listings and then provides a Web interface to view the TV listings in a grid format similar to many Web-based listings providers, but with user customization and no advertising. It supports explicit and bayesian classification of shows to highlight items you like and de-emphasize ones you don't.
C-Cramp (the C-Cramp College Radio Audio Management Program) is a Web-based frontend to MySQL for managing the types of things that small radio stations might need: audio files, data, and "metadata"; DJ and staff information, schedules, live music and program logs, and all sorts of other data. Currently, a cross-platform PHP application is the focus of the project, but more features and types of programs are planned that will hopefully enable easier playback, storage, loading, and entering for all types of applicable data.
