metaf2xml can download, parse, and decode aviation routine weather reports (METAR, SPECI, SAO), aerodrome forecasts (TAF), synoptic observations (SYNOP), and BUOY observations, and store the data as XML. XSLT style sheets convert it to plain language, as HTML or text. Current weather data from NOAA and other sources can be fetched and displayed.
OwfsWeather is a package that scans and logs weather data from various One-Wire weather sensors. It uses OWFS, the One Wire File System, to communicate with the sensors. It currently supports logging of weather data to Weather Underground, a CSV file, and to an RRD database. Current hardware supported is the WSI-601 weather station from AAG, a DS1820 temperature sensor, and the humidity and barometric pressure modules from Hobby Boards.
Wu is small command-line application that retrieves weather data from Weather Underground (including current conditions, historical data, forecasts, active alerts, and station lookup). The program is designed to be extremely fast and generally compliant with the Unix philosophy. Wu is written in Go, and requires a Go compiler to build from source.
